In June 2008, The Deshpande Foundation launched a revolutionary program focused on propagating social entrepreneurship and community development. Designed to facilitate the success of talented young people committed to building social enterprises, the six-month-long training, referred to as The Deshpande Fellowship Program (DFP), engages Fellows in interactive learning and skill-building.
The Deshpande Foundation firmly believes that motivated young people have the limitless energy, creativity and drive to serve as successful social entrepreneurs in a world where attention to social issues is so critical. Social entrepreneurs have the ability to identify and seize opportunities, leading others in scalable efforts to improve the situations of the neediest populations.
This blog is dedicated to the twenty-three current DFP Fellows. Learn about their backgrounds, current projects and dreams for the future. We encourage you to explore our blog and to feel free to comment on what you find.
